Reason for recall

Editors note (Mar 4, 2015): This release is being reissued to include additional product and a change in the number of pounds being recalled. WASHINGTON, March 2, 2015 Campos Foods, LLC, a Caryville, Tenn. establishment, is recalling approximately 126,705 pounds of beef products due to misbranding and undeclared allergens, the U.S. Department of Agricultures Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. The products contain wheat, a known allergen, which is not declared on the product label. Net Weight 15-oz. (425g) bag containing four 3.75-oz. burgers of H-E-B FULLY COOKED THICK N TASTY CHEESE BURGERS NATURAL SMOKE FLAVOR ADDED. Net Weight 30-oz. (1.87lbs) (850g) bag containing eight 3.75-oz. burgers of H-E-B FULLY COOKED THICK N TASTY CHEESE BURGERS NATURAL SMOKE FLAVOR ADDED. Net Weight 30-oz. (1.87lbs) (850g) bag containing eight 3.75-oz. burgers of H-E-B FULLY COOKED THICK N TASTY Bacon CHEESE BURGERS NATURAL SMOKE FLAVOR ADDED. The products subject to recall bear the establishment number EST. 2260 T inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items produced were shipped to retail locations in Texas. The problem was discovered when plant management approached the FSIS Inspector about a possible wheat contamination from a spice mix that was being used to formulate the product. FSIS routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify recalling firms notify their customers of the recall and that steps are taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers.
